1.  Identify the army you are fighting for, the Union or the Confederacy.  

2.  Go to your resource page and do research on the battle.

3.  Take notes using the worksheet provided.  These will be helpful when you write your letter to your friend.

4.  Write your rough draft for your letter.  Remember, you want your friend to feel and see what you do.  Use details! 

5. Proofread and revise your letter.

6.  Turn in your final letter to your teacher.
